Regards John baker I wish you had supplied the error number. Much easier to understand the problem. Anyway, I'm guessing you have a linked table and that you haven't copied it to your hard drive on the laptop. Go into AddIns on the menu and verify your tables via the Linked Table manager. People: Forget it!. I found the problem was in the database reference area, and the reference was to a drive that wasn't on the laptop all the time a memory stick. Sorry to have wasted your time.
