Windows 7 piracy update kb

Hidden the update just in case as my copy does not activate online like an oem. As I only suppose to have the licence as long as I still work for the org. Yeh, right.

That's like asking for trouble later on. Manually avoid this update in case you're worried instead. I wish Linux would take over sigh, it's not like the software devs have to do much work making more options available for Linux, it would be far cheaper for them as well seen as Linux is actually free.

Who uses IE8? You should've done like everyone else and just installed Firefox. Fastest Web Browsers: 1. Chrome 2. Safari 3. Firefox 4. Opera 5. Internet Explorer You make like the way Firefox looks right now, but they're soon going to adapt the "Chrome" look.

All I know is IE8 is craptacular compared to the rest. I really like opera for the sole reason that it's downloads are stored in a separate cache file. If the browser crashes, your downloads will start exactly where they were last time, which I haven't seen in a browser yet.

I didn't know about it and installed updates and BOOM! Might keep my eyes on this. Downloaded a copy late last night, yet to install it though. Damn thanks for the heads up. Yea, i bought vista for three computers last year. You think I was going to pay for windows 7 three times too?

I am using a pirated copy of win Now that I know this update is out I will ofc not be installing it. Good looking out for fellow pirates.. It will happen. So you guys are talking like all pirates should pay for something which in some cases should be free. For instance, I originally had vista on my laptop.

Got pro for free from my university. Only to find out from hp that if, You have vista home you have to go windows 7 ultimate or windows 7 home Ms upgrade cart and laptop maker recommends it. Plus after upgrading to pro it killed my battery on my laptop and my mother's laptop. You must work for MS or are your just a retard. Any its up and will remain unchecked because its not originally checked anyways.

If the pirated copy on my laptop ever stops working, despite me having auto updating turned off then I'll probably just go ahead and install Ubuntu. I have a pirated copy of Win7 ultimate dammit! In fact I feel like my comp runs slower with each update I install. But I do update the spyware removal and anti-virus. Windows 7 runs better than Win Vista with SP2 as it is.

Do you really think I'm concerned about Microsoft. This patch to catch pirates is just going to cause more problems for legit users than for pirates. They should just drop the price or at least bundle 64 with 32 bit for a buy one get one free deal. Please Apple start making 3D games so I can totally get away from Microsoft. If you buy the Professional or above version of Win7 you do get the 32 and 64 bit version in the box. And as a Windows 7 user I can tell you that it's a pretty good OS and has been pretty stable since release for me and the people I know that also use it.

Not one single crash. Of course there will be crashes now and again but it's not like OSX which is a great OS too is flaw free either. From what I see people doing. When I bought my computer from Dell I paid for my Windows 7. That better be wrong or MS is in some big trouble. PC Windows 7 emotionalninja.

The story is too old to be commented. Bnet d ago Pirates always win, but at least they are trying to combat piracy. KionicWarlord d ago I got mind cheap for 50 bucks. Agree 3 Disagree 4. Agree 18 Disagree 4. But you also have to deacitvate the Realtime-protection in Windows Defender - as I remember, when I was an Insider, I had to deactivate it, when upgrading to new Builds About antivirus for Windows Some users have problems with Avast! If what you say is true, it really is unbelievable that Microsoft's own program Windows Defender could be responsible for all these installation problems and that nothing appears to have been said or done by Microsoft to implement a work-around in their upgrade routine to deal with this or any of the other reported issues!

To be perfectly honest, I've never been a fan of Defender in Windows 7 anyway. It seems to me to offer only minimal protection and I was considering uninstalling and replacing it with either SuperAntiSpyware or SpywareBlaster.

Are either of these likely to cause a problem with Windows 10 too? Thanks for your advice about potential Avast problems with Windows I have used Avast for several years. I think it is one of the best anti-virus programs and will be very sorry to lose it. Is there anything else you can recommend in its place? When I pluck up enough courage to attempt the upgrade again, I'll let you know what happens but I think I will wait a little while to see if any of my other questions are answered before I feel confident enough to do so.

When buying a new PC, or reinstalling the old one, Windows Defender is better than absolutely nothing, until we get another antivirusprogram on it - if just it's being updated!! In Windows 8, and never, Windows Defender is upgraded to be an antivirusprogram - perhaps, that's why it isn't good i Windows 7? AVG runs on Windows 10 - and you don't have to get an account, and get the program registered, like you do with Avast. You can't uninstall Windows Defender - it will only automatic get deactivated, when throwing another antivirusprogram on it - if the other antivirus works correctly.

Antispyware-programs or Malwares Anti Malware can be installed but only use the free ones, so you don't have 2 programs with Realtime-protection - this will slow down the computer. I don't know anything about the programs, you mentioned, but check their websites, for the specifications. Forgot SuperAntiSpyware When used it, I couldn't shut it down. If it wass me, I will prefer, buying a new computer with Windows 10 installed from the factory, instead of upgrading my old Compaq wreck, and not use the free upgrade, where I will have to "pay" hours and tears for getting it up and only HOPEFULLY running.

Here in the UK, for the last few years, Kaspersky has been rated as the best paid for Antivirus program with Avast being the best free antivirus program. Like you, when my current PC was new, I immediately got rid of the preinstalled Norton trial and replaced it with Avast. I have been happy with Avast for many years and I'm truly disappointed to hear that it can cause problems with Windows I hope Avast will put this right before too long.

Also, under Windows 7, Windows Defender can be used purely for anti-spyware. This is how it came with my PC. If I wanted to use it as an anti-virus program as well I would have to download the full Microsoft Security Essentials package. I've never used Windows 8 so I guess, as you say, for Windows 8 and newer it must have been upgraded to an uninstallable full antivirus program. A few years ago, I tried the full Microsoft Security Essentials package but I found that it slowed down my PC far too much so I uninstalled it and went back to Avast which was much much better.

I don't know anything about BullGuard antivirus but I did try their anti-spam software a couple of years ago which caused a few problems and I had to uninstall that too. In my opinion, both of these programs are very good and have never caused me any problems. Malwarebytes also have free Anti-Exploit and Anti-Rootkit beta tools which you might like to try. I'm certain that Microsoft should be able to find ways around most, if not all, of all this unnecessary hassle and build appropriate routines into the upgrade process that will maximize the chances of success for everyone.

I hope I'll be getting answers to my other questions soon so that I will feel confident enough to attempt the upgrade again. Preferably, Microsoft will be offering a much improved upgrade and installation update well before the free upgrade expiry date or, better still, extend the deadline for another year or so to allow them to get things right. Until then, as you say, it's probably better for me and probably many others to reluctantly wait for a few years until I need and can afford a new PC with Windows 10 already installed and thus avoid any more wasted time and frustrating effort in trying to get what should be a simple and straightforward free upgrade properly installed and working.

As promised and to keep you updated, I've attempted the upgrade to Windows 10 again since I was last in touch. Despite incorporating a few more options that I have learned about over the last week or two. I'm afraid I'm no further forward. On my last attempt yesterday, I used the Media Creation Tool but that did not make any difference.

When I subsequently forced my PC to shut down and then reverted to Windows 7, I got the following message I think I'll now delay any more upgrade attempts until I feel more confident of a successful outcome.

There are still several as yet unanswered questions from my previous posts. For the sake of convenience, I'll repeat them below Any feedback anyone can offer on any of these questions would be gratefully received. Hi all, I've just received and installed Windows 7 update KB which is described as "a compatibility update to improve the upgrade experience to the latest version of Windows".

The only suggestion I haven't yet tried, before re-attempting the upgrade, is to run as an administrator the command line:- rundll Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

I have the same question Report abuse. Details required :. Cancel Submit. Hello, Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community and providing us with the detailed description about the issue. Has any1 here tried Win8? I did hear from 1 person it was annoying and far worse than 7 but I like to hear more than 1 opinion not that it would stop me from testing it out anyway lol So Btw i uninstalled the WAT update and ran win loader but cant seem to fix my op sys And if that is the case how do I go about uninstalling it?

I think it may have been WAT Remover if that helps Just activated mine and the loader doesn't even touch the WAT This was not a free tool and for those who want it can contact me at deathshead yahoo. Change Windows Update settings to "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them". This option actually downloads the updates but doesn't install them. Also untick recommended updates in the same dialogue box. The other option is a LIE "Download updates and let me choose whether to install them".

It seems to reinstall KB automatically. Whenever you're ready just untick KB from the update list and install the rest of your updates. I had windows popping up and saying "you may be a victim of counterfeiting software".

After i ran WAT it worked the window stopped showing. I downloaded this installation yesterday after being told by Windows it was a "Critical update" Didn't even consider it would cause so many problems. First sign something was wrong was when Windows refused to work any more no warnings, no errors, no problems detected in normal mode. Only in Safe mode would it boot up. System Restore failed to work consistently, and loading up windows in normal mode only resulted in a black screen or windows loading and then semi-freezing when I clicked on anything until I was told that "Microsoft had an error".

Went online on my mothers computer and found out about this update. Went to uninstall all updates in case they were causing problems. Uninstalling the one above is the only one that would not allow. The left click on it refused to work and uninstalling the others only resulted in my computer telling me "Updating windows please do not close your computer" and semi-freezing there mouse worked fine, little dots by the do not close computer moving happily, no sound or sign of activity from the actual laptop , for both normal mode -and- safe mode.

Only solution was to reset the laptop to it's factory settings and thank the Lord that Toshiba had installed that option as when I bought the laptop it did not come with it's own Original Operating System disc. Problems however are not completely over. Can this update cause problems? I'm actually a little jealous of the people who are only stating they get an annoying popup now and again Doesn't anyone back up their systems?

I'm talking about a DR backup, not just copying your files to the internet. This is a no-brainer, people, and this is one of the best reasons for it. Windows breaks? Spent more than 5 minutes trying to fix it?

Pop in the CD, restore the OS image, restart, and you're back in business 30 minutes later. There are loads of sneaky ways I have found Win7 uses to cause problems with the KB Im sure there must be another update similar to lurking in the wings waiting for a chance to get online and play. Anyway, my advice to anyone installing a genuine online version of W Be very wary of going near any Microsoft site or site affiliated with MS.

Also avoid asking microsoft for anything or consulting any online help pages or stuff like that for drivers, patches, etc. Info is much more available on forums and you are less likely to be tricked by microsoft into revealing something about your OS that they can piss around with and ruin. Remove the update from the list and make sure it doesn't come back if you reboot.

It also has a sneaky update option in the security centre, especially if you don't have any AV or IS software installed. It will complain that the default windoze firewall should be in operation Get a decent firewall and update manually.

Maybe try one at a time and see if its ok after reboot. I think it's dodgy so I am not installing it. Have absolutely no use for Windows Defender whatsoever so anything like that I will avoid like the plague.

I ve pirated version of windows 7,every time i boot up system slows down showing a message "Windows configuring dont turn off your computer" how to stop this and speed up my pc? Avoid all windows updates in the first place. Then you will never have a problem. The updates are now needed at all in your lifetime - trust me. As long as you system is working fine, why do you need to get logged on to a Microsoft server. Once you're there, your dead. Further than this if your so concerned about the software you use and the messages that pop up, by the original and stop cribbing.

One good investment solves all the problems you might face in the long run, unless your planning on countless installations and formats and so on. By the look of your pic that you posted you can update all of them without any problem.

I'm really worried about that windows malicious software removal though. Anyways, hey guys! My sistuation: i have wondows 7 ultimate, that was genuine, and the readme file said it would stay genuine. But obviously it didn't, so i went to a trustable torrent site and downloaded "DAZ loader", wich from my faint memory worked great.

Anyways, i ususally just use genereal settings, dont bother messing with it, but since i also have linux mint 15 installed on another partition, i saw in the options of DAZ loader, that i could tick off something like "leave boot as is" or something like that.

Now it wont start at all, i can enter bios, i can run different hardisk and meory tests, wich all get passed, but i cant seem to boot from my windows or my linux Anyways, im not panicking, im running tails on the computer im talking about, so and i have the win 7 installer. But i like to learn different things for different times. What im wondering is this; there must be a file in the hardisk that has to do with booting? After installing DAZ Loader, it seems to have been corrupted thats why you are uanable to boot either of the systems.

With a prog called DAZ LOADED, so i followed instructions, i think i used it before on xp oor something and it worked, anyways, before starting the process i went through customs in the program and ticked "leace bootable as is" or something like that, then started it!

Maybe there is a "boot" file i can edit or something? Hey, I have the same problem. Have you worked it out? If you did, can you please advise how you did it? Because I am panicking right now. Gee, thanks.
