I was wondering about not seeing Firefox users and even Outlook would complain at times complaining about this new feature ever since its inclusion in the brand new Mac version. Now it seems it's just that the search engine didn't capture them. If I recall correctly, the Windows version has got a dedicated switch for this, so it'd make sense to be able to leave the Web Shield active for non-encrypted connections and leave encrypted ones alone though I admit, with free and even automatic SSL certificate issuers available to everyone, it wouldn't take too long before scanners without SSL interception get deprecated.

Charles Knipe Does not resolve the problem. Perhaps try it yourself because the 'Open old settings' function doesn't exists. But for ease of reference, see this. What now?
