Best setup for wizard diablo 3 inferno

Each of the original four entries has been updated and reflects the highest Greater Rift accomplished. Also, one build, Vyr-Chantado, made a huge leap since the last list and has therefore been added to the best builds.

The spellset of the Delsere's Magnum Opus Frozen Orb Wizard is one that is popular for new players who are trying to level to seventy for the first time. There's no reason to change builds if you've mastered these already, this build turns early game spells into something that can clear a Greater Rift at all by themselves with just a little bit of farming.

The gameplay is as straightforward as it gets; slow enemies down and blow them up when they try to catch up.

The frost effects are especially good at killing mobs and kiting bosses. Since the initial week of patch 2. A few short patches ago, the Mammoth Hydra build was the top dog. People turned away from the Hydra after a few nerfs, but they turned a little bit too quickly; with some adjustments, the Typhon Hydra Wizard is an excellent damage-dealing machine that never has to stay in place to put up big numbers. Changing the Hydra to Frost from Mammoth has given it a fresh and strong new playstyle.

Groups that have a zBarb who can bring enemies into a tight ball of bodies will gladly take the services of a Typhon Hydra Wizard, but this build also shines in solo instances, capable of clearing Greater Rift on its own. Astonishingly, the Vyr-Chantodo build wasn't even on the map and was considered mostly outdated at the beginning of the latest patch. After a few weeks, the global stats seemed to confirm that this build was mostly in retirement.

If it weren't for a few creative minds in the community, that might still be the case, but after getting a second look, players have managed to clear Greater Rift with a build that appears to have reclaimed the glory it got during season four.

After hounding my mage buddy forever he finally did, all defensive skills except for poison hydra and homing arcane missle, and he does wayyyyyyyyy better. Is the gear for both a witch doctor and wizard interchangeable, or would a witch doctor want certain stats that wizards wouldn't want? Show 5 more comments. Active Oldest Votes. Wizard damage sources relies more on critical damage rather than straight up dps, so favors not only int but also crit.

Witch doctors relies on dps and mob control, and thus does not care as much about crit. Improve this answer. Are there particular spells that the wizard use that really benefit from it? What is the build of your friend's witch doctor? I see a lot of people like to put a high end emerald into their weapon to get high bonus crit damage — l I.

Add a comment. Life on Hit doesn't help pets; but life regen does with Fierce Loyalty. A WD caster build would prefer LoH for self healing, minion build should prefer regen instead. Alok Alok 9, 14 14 gold badges 63 63 silver badges bronze badges. I saw this video and it looks like you could achieve very nice results with Critical Chance, too. Your disclaimer makes your advice pointless.

Robotsushi: How does that make it wrong? I'm giving my opinions, and I do have a monk in Inferno act 1 but wizard isn't there yet. If you see Valadil's answer, he mentioned Armor which I forgot to emphasize but otherwise its the same; so I am not giving wrong recommendations. Also, whoever downvoted: please mention why , so I can fix the answer.

I down voted and clearly stated the reason. I do not find your answer to be valid based on a lack of experience. Until you have played a wizard through act 2 of inferno your advice is not based on experience. Show 1 more comment. What seems to get most people through, and what has worked for me is the following: 30 to 40k dps self buffed Some to resist all 30 to 40k health A GREAT kiting build what you use is up to you The trick is to be quick on your feet, and simply avoid as much as you can.

Unfortunately inherently fast champion packs with "Fast" added will destroy you regardless, so when you meet them, simply kite them to a corner of the map, and never go there again : Good luck out there in the Inferno. Awaiting Death Awaiting Death 11 1 1 bronze badge. You don't need 40K HP. I cleared Act 2 Inferno on my Wizard with 17K hp and force armor. Looking at your witch doctor build, I use the pets build.

I use a one handed axe and a shield right now which helps with the occasional block I did get my butt kicked a little in Act 2 by the Lacuni Huntress just because of speed but with 6 pets and the Templar shooting from a range was easier then working with my Demon Hunter.

Still working on Act 3. Mike Mike 4, 11 11 gold badges 40 40 silver badges 74 74 bronze badges. Desiato Desiato 3 3 bronze badges. Valadil Valadil 1 1 silver badge 7 7 bronze badges. Use it a lot, but watch out for Treasure Goblins. This will arc between targets so you need to pay attention so that you don't aggro anything you don't want to attack.

If you are doing Dank Runs, don't aggro the Goblin. If you do, blame it on the Demon Hunter. Surge of Power here serves to build up your power when you run low. Surge of Power it what this build uses to build the power source. Every enemy hit with Electrocute builds one unit of source. Again this works well in tandem with all of the other skill previously outlined.

It's also where Diamond Skin becomes really handy, because it allows you to stand still while you bring out the big guns. As Disintigrate intensifies, you can just chill while some Mallot Lord tries to whack you in the face and gets nothing for it.

Galvanizing Ward: As long as you have an armor mode active you gain life per second. Your armor modes also last seconds longer. The Energy Armor active skill qualifies for this. You always want it on. It takes nothing to cast, and your power source bounces back really fast. Cast it after every fight. Arcane Dynamo: The trick here is the "flashes of insight. It maxes out at five. In sum here, what you do is build up your flashes of insight, trigger Diamond Skin, and unleash Disintigrate with the Intensify rune.

It's scary how much damage this can do. It's easily more powerful than Archon alone, and because of the other abilities in this build, it leaves you more mobile and less vulnerable.

Temporal Flux: This third skill is sort of a toss up. Many people will use something like Prodigy instead, provided they aren't using Electrocute and Surge of Power to build their source. Using both isn't really necessary because source builds fast enough with just one of these skills. Temporal Flux is nice because it combos well with Disintigrate to slow down enemies when you deal arcane damage. If you want to subsitute it for something else though to cover your bases go for it.

You will die. It happens. But it should happen a lot less. Use your death to figure out where the whole in your build is. Most likely it is either your armor or your weapon. Or more frequently, it is because you did not trigger Diamond Skin.
